Early Days | Historic Landlords | Pub Signs | Celebrities | Building Deeds | Giuseppe Garibaldi
Over the years, there have been many celebrity sightings within our dear Garibaldi. Some we mention here, many we choose to keep to ourselves:
During the late 1980’s:
• Susan Penhaligon
• Jeremy Irons was a customer on one occasion
• The Pub was used as a location on the programme Lovejoy, with the characters coming into the pub for drinks and a sandwich and eating outside, a fake telephone box was added for filming
During 1949-1968:
• Cast and crew members of Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines, filming at nearby Booker Airfield
• The comedian Bud Flanagan, who lived at Bourne End
• Scottish comic film and television actress Renée Houston, who lived at Hedsor
• Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton, all members of the rock group Cream, during breaks in recording
• WWII flying ace, test pilot and aviation author Squadron Leader Neville Duke
• American actor Robert Hutton (pictured below), who lived at Bourne End
